Sewing School for Kids is a program to teach kids age 7 and up how to sew. Enrollment is ongoing, with a one hour class every week.
During these unprecedented times we are offering classes via Zoom.
Your child must have taken classes at the Electric Needle prior to the pandemic.
They must also have their own sewing machine.
Please call for availability.
If your child is seven or older and has not taken classes, call the store to see what we can arrange. During this time we will be doing classes via Zoom. Your child will have to have a sewing machine to work on at home.
Our student to teacher ratio is 3 to 1 via Zoom.
It is an ongoing enrollment so kids are not all working on the same projects
and there is no competition.
The Sewing School for Kids program is designed to teach kids 7 and up to sew.
To do this we start with one of three different books with Instructions geared towards kids which includes 7 - 8 patterns. This will take them about
9 months to a year to make all of the patterns. Then they have enough skills to branch out to other projects and patterns.
First class starts with safety, learning how to use a sewing machine, and skills assessment. They will also receive their first assignment and shopping list for second class.
Second class focuses on sewing the first project. The first pattern we make is a sewing bag so they can bring their things to class in it.
You will be responsible for purchasing the supplies to make each project.
To sign up you choose an available time slot and then come weekly at that time. The cost for the 1 hour weekly class is $15 a class .
To find the availability of a class time please come in, call (608-422-5449) or email the store.(firstname.lastname@example.org)
Give your child the life long skill of sewing.
