Instructor: | Karen Dilley |
Instructor Bio: | My entire working career was with the Insurance industry. These jobs afforded me the opportunity to work with my first love, color and fabric. This resulted in learning to make ballroom dance costumes, square dance dresses, draperies, patio awnings and quilts. All of these provided the challenge of combining colors and textures. Retirement has allowed me to expand my knowledge of sewing and designing with color. Since retiring, I have taught the following classes: - How to look your best on the dance floor: A class focused on proportion, color, personal style and how to draw attention to your best assets. - You and your best colors: A class focused on using color to look your best. - How to combine colors and patterns: What colors combine well? How to select patterns that don’t conflict or detract from the overall composition. - Basic Square Dance Skirt Construction: The focus of this class was on pattern selection, the best length and style for your specific figure and best construction techniques. The environment has always been one of my passions. Let’s make sure as little as possible goes into landfills. Boomerang groups make great use of upcycled fabrics and the scraps left over after making the bags can go into pet beds. |
