Sewing Machine 101 for Kids

Ready, set, SEW! In this introductory class, we'll cover how to thread your sewing machine, bobbin winding, locating and adjusting your stitch length and width, reverse, thread tension and more! We will also discuss safety guidelines that are important for young sewists to follow both in our classroom and when sewing at home.

This is a beginner-level class for sewists aged 7 to 13. No prior sewing experience is required.

Students are welcome to bring their own sewing machine, or to use one of our classroom machines.

Participants will need to have a waiver and registration form signed by a parent/guardian. This paperwork will be sent out two weeks before class, along with a supply list.
