Improv Quilting 101 - Layered Curve
Develop your creative voice with this expressive form of patchwork! Improv quilting is done without rulers or patterns and is a fun, relaxing way to play with color and form. We will use a variety of improvisational techniques taught in Sherri Lynn Wood's fabulous book The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters.
All sewists ages 16+ with beginner sewing skill and up are welcome, no quilting experience necessary.
Class 3: Layered Curve
Bring your sewing machine or call ahead if you need to reserve a classroom sewing machine.
Participants under 18 will need to have a waiver and registration form signed by a parent/guardian.

Instructor Bio:
Bernie Taylor (he/him) is a sewist and multimedia artist from rural upstate New York. He received a B.S. in Digital Arts and Sciences from Clarkson University and an M.S. in Surface Imaging from Philadelphia University, specializing in textile design and inkjet printing for textiles, respectively. His creative interests include color theory, improv quilting, repurposing materials, working with dyes, functional home sewing projects, and making toys and games for his bunny, Frankie. He loves troubleshooting and brainstorming - ask him anything!
